Orange Pineapple Turmeric Smoothie

Ingredients (serves 1–2)

  • 150 g fresh pineapple (about ⅓ of a medium pineapple)
  • 1 large orange, peeled and segmented
  • 1–2 cm knob of fresh turmeric, peeled
  • 200 ml coconut water (or enough to just cover the fruit in the blender)
  • Optional: A small pinch of black pepper (enhances turmeric absorption)
  • Optional: A few ice cubes (for extra chill)

Instructions

  1. Prep the fruit: Chop the pineapple into chunks. Peel and segment the orange. Peel the turmeric (careful, it stains like it means it 💛).
  2. Blend: Add pineapple, orange, turmeric, and coconut water to a blender. Toss in a few ice cubes if you like it cold.
  3. Boost it (optional): Add a tiny pinch of black pepper to unlock the full powers of turmeric. Don’t worry—you won’t taste it, but your body will appreciate it.
  4. Whiz it: Blend until smooth and vibrant. Pour into a glass and serve immediately for best flavor and nutrients.
  5. Optional fancy garnish: Add an orange slice or a pineapple wedge on the rim if you’re feeling extra.

🧪 Flavour & Function Tips

  • Sweetness tweak: If your orange is more sour than sweet, add ½ tsp honey or a Medjool date before blending.
  • Turmeric caution: A little goes a long way. More than 2 cm and you might go from zesty to “did I just drink a root garden?”
  • Peppery power: Black pepper isn’t just spice—it helps your body absorb curcumin, the good-for-you compound in turmeric.
